Who I work with

I offer psychotherapy to adults struggling with transitions. These transitions may be related to changes in physical health, conflict in close relationships,  or other challenges.  We work with these transitions as contexts for mental health concerns.

My practice is entirely remote (teletherapy). I am licensed to treat individuals in Washington, California and the 41 states participating in Psypact.

How I work

I will work with you to understand the nuances of your struggles and concerns.  We will examine how the problems you are experiencing manifest in different relationships and different aspects of your life.  We will agree on approaches to help you, taking into account how you've tried to manage related challenges in the past and frequently evaluating if we are working effectively.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic with an integration of cognitive and behavioral methods as appropriate. This is hyper personalized not manualized therapy.

I am an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington where my research examines technology and mental health. As a therapist, I keep an eye on how you may be able to shift the way you use technologies. I will not urge you to banish technology but will help you put it to work for your relationships and health.

Insurance
I do not accept insurance but will provide a statement you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance. I will provide a good-faith estimate of costs before the first appointment for initial work and at regular intervals.
